My Relationship with SOUND has taken me on a very strange journey from Passing Fascination to Live Sound Engineering on into Radio Broadcasting and currently Location Sound Recording.

As with many skills you start on one path and quickly realize that the path has multiple branches. With considerable experience you begin to understand that many of these paths can reach the same destination but the journey there is very different.

It's difficult to explain how creating good sound for a video of one person speaking into a microphone on the street can be an entirely different skill to creating good sound for the same person speaking into the same microphone onstage in front of a live audience.

Recording Sound and Broadcasting Sound can often seem to be opposites of each other. One seeking to be in the quietest environment possible and the other actively aiming to be as loud and clear as possible.

There are times when both run simultaneously.
